Meet John Mark
John moved to Australia in 2007. Born in Sudan, John spoke little English, but chose to flee war torn Southern Sudan as a refugee to Australia for a better future.
In 2015, John commenced working with Star Aviation Services, as a recommendation from a friend who was one of our current employees.
John has progressed rapidly throughout his career at Star, working across a variety of locations and different roles. He began as a Fleet Presentation Officer in Canberra and has since progressed to a Team Leader. John was also a member of the start up team in Darwin providing guidance as a Team Leader before returning to Canberra.
When asked who has helped him the most along his journey John would like to thank Rohan Smith.
Rohan is a mutual friend of those who recommended John for the position back in 2015. Rohan taught and assisted John with English translation and further enforced the importance of safety.
John said “ I love how Star Aviation is flexible as I am currently studying Building Construction at CIT, I also love how multicultural Star is, you get to learn more about others and their cultures.”
John has brought a strong work ethic to our team; his positive attitude to getting the job done is infectious and sets the bar.
