Emerald Airport to receive the Star treatment

Increasing our footprint along the eastern seaboard, on Monday 10th July, Star Aviation successfully transitioned the ground handling services at Emerald Airport, on behalf of QantasLink.

Continuing with its successful recruitment approach, Star has employed local staff to ensure the community continues to benefit. Based in Emerald, Star appointed Nathan Linnell as Area Airport Manager to lead the QLD Ports and Teams with his extensive background and local knowledge.

Star Aviation’s Managing Director, Peter Georgiou said;

“I am thrilled that Star Aviation have been afforded the opportunity to deliver ground handling and lounge management services at Emerald Airport. The awarding of this contract has seen the creation of a newly developed management role and continued local employment maintaining Star’s vision of keeping jobs local and investing into the community through training, local product purchase and community engagement through sponsorship.

The success of Star is primarily due to the hard working efforts of the people who work for us. It’s their continued efforts that set Star Aviation apart as a point of difference. I am extremely proud and humbled that we have the best people in the business and we will continue to employ the best. In 2012 there were 12 employees working for Star, we now employ over 100 people and I am proud to say I have met each one and know them by face and name. Star is a true family business.”

Star will continue to invest into its business with the purchase of additional GSE, investment into our people to become subject matter experts in the area of training, safety and compliance along with the ability to continue to grow as the Airlines alternate ground handler of choice.
